COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIPS July 13th, 2010
Shumaker & Sieffert is proud to have sponsored the University of Minnesota Law School Theatre of the Relatively Talentless (TORT) production of "A Midsemester Night's Dream" and the Race for Justice this year. Minnesota Law School students participating in TORT produce an annual musical show, while the Race for Justice raises money to subsidize education debts for dedicated, low-paid public interest attorneys.
SHUMAKER & SIEFFERT SPONSORS CHARITY 5K RUN May 8th, 2010
Shumaker & Sieffert was proud to sponsor the 2nd Annual Wooly Run in St. Paul, MN. The Wooly Run is a charity 5K run that supports the efforts of Medicine for Sick Children - a local foundation that provides medicines and medical supplies directly to needy children and pediatric clinics in some of the poorest countries in Africa. True to the run's name, 13 employees and friends of the firm braved the unseasonably chilly weather to run for the cause.

SHUMAKER & SIEFFERT COLLECTS FOOD FOR FOOD SHELF December 18th, 2009
Shumaker & Sieffert is proud to sponsor the Christian Cupboard Food Shelf in Woodbury, Minnesota. The firm recently provided 122 pounds of food to the food shelf. The Christian Cupboard Food Shelf is a non-profit organization that provides food for those in need living in Washington County, Minnesota.
NEW ASSOCIATES JOIN SHUMAKER & SIEFFERT December 9th, 2009
Doreen Gwin recently joined the firm as Senior Counsel, and Kurt Krenz and Paul LaVanway recently joined the firm as associate attorneys. Previously, Doreen was a patent attorney at Sughrue Mion Zinn MacPeak & Seas and Exxon Chemical, and senior intellectual property counsel at 3M. Kurt was a patent attorney at Fish & Richardson. Paul recently graduated from the University of Minnesota.
SHUMAKER & SIEFFERT ADOPTS A FAMILY THROUGH NEIGHBORS, INC. December 7th, 2009
Shumaker & Sieffert will be participating in the "Adopt-A-Family" program through Neighbors, Inc. of St. Paul, Minnesota. Neighbors is a non-profit, social-service agency serving the Northern Dakota County communities of Inver Grove Heights, South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Mendota, Sunfish Lake and Lilydale. NEW ASSOCIATES JOIN SHUMAKER & SIEFFERT October 30th, 2009
Michael Mischnick, Michael Buschbach, and Benjamin Wutt recently joined the firm as associate attorneys. Michael Mischnick was previously a litigation associate at Fish & Richardson. Michael Buschbach and Benjamin Wutt successfully passed the Minnesota Bar Examination recently and are now working at the firm full time.
