Shumaker & Sieffert Collects Food for Food Shelf December 18th, 2009
Shumaker & Sieffert is proud to sponsor the Christian Cupboard Food Shelf in Woodbury, Minnesota. The firm recently provided 122 pounds of food to the food shelf. Shumaker & Sieffert will be participating in the "Adopt-A-Family" program through Neighbors, Inc. of St. Paul, Minnesota. Neighbors is a non-profit, social-service agency serving the Northern Dakota County communities of Inver Grove Heights, South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Mendota, Sunfish Lake and Lilydale. Patent Prosecution Seminar September 8th, 2009
Steve Shumaker and Kent Sieffert are teaching Patent Practice as a seminar at the University of Minnesota Law School. This is the ninth year that Steve and Kent have taught the seminar as adjunct professors. The seminar focuses on preparation and prosecution practice of U.S. and foreign patent applications, as well as patent portfolio management strategies.

Jennifer Rogers has been asked to serve as Co-Chair of the CITRIX Platforms subcommittee of the AIPLA Online Programs committee. Jennifer has been actively involved in the AIPLA Online Programs Committee since 2006. In the past, Jennifer participated as a panelist in the Women in IP Law committee meeting "Business Plan Boot Camp" at the 2007 AIPLA Spring Meeting in Boston.

Michael Buschbach and Benjamin Wutt to Join Shumaker & Sieffert July 13th, 2009
Michael Buschbach and Benjamin Wutt have agreed to join Shumaker & Sieffert as associates in the fall after completion of the Minnesota Bar Examination. Michael and Ben were law clerks of the firm while they were students at the University of Minnesota Law School. They graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2009 and are now studying for the Minnesota Bar. Previously, Michael worked as an engineer for Battelle at the Department of Energy’s Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, and Ben assisted the legal department at Seagate and developed software for the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
