Patent Practice Seminar September 9th, 2008
Steve Shumaker and Kent Sieffert are teaching Patent Practice as a seminar at the University of Minnesota Law School. This is the eighth year that Steve and Kent have taught the seminar as adjunct professors. The seminar focuses on preparation and prosecution practice of U.S. and foreign patent applications as well as patent portfolio management strategies.

Shumaker & Sieffert Employees Participate in Volunteer Events June 12th, 2008
Shumaker & Sieffert, P.A. recognizes the importance of giving back to the community. In June 2008, Shumaker & Sieffert held a successful employee community service drive to collect donations of personal hygiene items to be donated to Joseph’s Coat (http://www.josephscoatmn.org/). Joseph's Coat serves people whose life challenges have left them in need of essential goods and services. Since 1989, Joseph's Coat has been serving our neediest neighbors in Saint Paul, Minnesota and the surrounding Twin Cities communities. Their free store provides clothing, household items, personal hygiene products, and children’s items.

Also in June 2008, Shumaker & Sieffert, P.A. organized volunteer outings of two teams of ten employees to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children (http://www.fmsc.org/), a non-profit organization committed to feeding starving children. The approach if Feed My Starving Children is simple: volunteers of all ages hand-pack meals designed especially for starving children, and FMSC ships the meals to more than 50 countries around the world.
