Raymond is a registered patent attorney who focuses on patent application and prosecution in the electrical, software, and medical device areas. Prior to joining Shumaker & Sieffert, Raymond served as in-house patent counsel at ACIST Medical Systems, a medical device company located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In addition, Raymond worked as an associate at the firms of Fish & Richardson and Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner in Minneapolis, where he specialized in patent application and prosecution work. While working at Fish & Richardson, Raymond also spent some time in a litigation-support role, when he conducted detailed analyses of a variety of patents in both the electrical and software areas.
Before practicing law as a patent attorney, Raymond worked for close to 5 years with AT&T/Lucent Technologies as a software developer, designer, and architect. During his time with AT&T/Lucent, Raymond worked with different development teams to help deliver network management solutions to various customers.
