Laura is a Technical Specialist specializing in support of patent prosecution in the medical device arts. During college, Laura's studies focused on medical instrumentation, including processing of biosignals and medical imaging. Academic projects included the design of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-compatible device to monitor exhalation force exerted as a patient performs a Valsalva maneuver, a team effort to design, test and build a phantom to calibrate an MRI system and determine a correlation between MRI data and intervertebral disk degradation, and design of a mixing chamber for stabilized oxygen delivery to patients on mechanical ventilators. Laura also worked as an intern for General Electric (GE) Healthcare.
