Professional Experience
Carl is an experienced attorney with a practice directed to drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the electronics, software and mechanical arts. Carl prepares and prosecutes patent applications in power electronics, semiconductor packaging, phased-array radar, embedded systems, electric generators, and medical devices. Carl has degrees in civil engineering and electrical engineering. Previously, Carl was an associate at the law firm of Burns & Hansen, P.A., where he focused on civil litigation, in state and federal courts. During college, Carl wrote data analysis computer programs for the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute and the National Center for Earth-Surface Dynamics. Carl also served as an intern for U.S. District Judge Richard H. Kyle and as a judicial law clerk for several state trial court judges.
