Catherine is Senior Counsel at Shumaker & Sieffert and is a registered patent attorney. Her practice includes drafting and prosecution of US and International patent applications in the mechanical arts, including applications directed to medical devices, spinal implants, stents, cardiac leads, dental implants, cardiac systems, automotive components, energy components, oil technology, membrane technology, manufacturing processes, semiconductor technology, electronic packaging, solar technology, and fuel cells. Catherine’s practice further includes patent infringement/validity analysis, and portfolio management.
Catherine has been a patent attorney for over 24 years. Previously, Catherine was in-house IP Counsel at Continental Automotive Systems, and a Shareholder at another patent prosecution firm. Prior to her legal career, Catherine was an Engineer at Honeywell International, Inc.
Catherine is on the Board as Vice Chair of Chicago Women in IP (ChiWIP).
