Sam is a registered patent attorney specializing in the computing, electrical, communications, and medical device arts. Sam has worked with a variety of clients to secure patent protection on a number of inventions according to each client’s unique strategies and business goals. During his time at Shumaker & Sieffert, Sam has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) as well as numerous jurisdictions outside the United States. Sam combines his legal experience and technical knowledge to provide a result-oriented approach to fulfilling client needs. At Shumaker & Sieffert, Sam is a member of the firm’s diversity committee.
Prior to joining the firm, Sam worked as a patent analyst, and also gained several years of industry experience working in the wireless communication and medical imaging fields. During law school, Sam worked as a prior art researcher at the University of Florida’s Office of Technology Licensing, served as a board member on his law school’s Journal of Technology Law & Policy, and was vice president of the school’s Intellectual Property & Technology Law Association.
