Professional Experience
Darcy Shukla is shareholder and Executive Committee member of Shumaker & Sieffert. She is a registered U.S. patent attorney focusing on patent preparation and prosecution, and strategic counseling on patent portfolio development. She specializes in software, computer networking, and financial services technologies. Darcy served as the firm’s President and CEO from 2022–2025.
Darcy has been highlighted as a notable practitioner as part of ManagingIP’s IP STARS ranking, which named Shumaker & Sieffert as a highly recommended patent prosecution firm. Darcy is a faculty member for the Management of Technology (MOT) graduate degree program in the Technology Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota’s College of Science and Engineering, where she has taught courses in Managing Intellectual Property since 2019. Darcy has coordinated the annual AIPLA Women in IP Community Service Event for St. Paul, MN since 2016.
