Guanyao is a registered patent attorney specializing in patent prosecution and intellectual property counseling in the electronics, software, computer hardware, and telecommunication arts. Prior to law school, Guanyao worked on research projects at the University of Illinois directed towards capturing and communicating multimedia field data for project management at remote facilities, and run-time optimization of computer applications. Guanyao has also completed an internship as a software engineer developing software for modeling radar signatures, and worked as a co-op student at Compaq Corporation working on microprocessor design and verification. Previously, Guanyao worked as Counsel at McDermott Will & Emery in Silicon Valley focusing on patent prosecution and intellectual property counseling.
