On Wednesday, May 15th, Shumaker & Sieffert participated in the annual American Heart Association’s Lawyers Have Heart 5K. In years past, we have hit the concrete outside, but this year we did laps inside our office. Did you know it takes 42 laps of the S&S office to equal a 5K? Employees participated in different ways, with some opting to do a few laps while others were determined to hit all 42. After each lap, they slipped another heart on their necklace to keep track of their progress.
While walking a lap, Kari Green, a paralegal at Shumaker & Sieffert, shed some light on why she had the goal of completing all 42 laps during the day: “I participated in our firm’s 5K walk for Lawyers Have Heart as heart health awareness and funding is super important to me and my family. My dad, who has always been very active and healthy, had his third heart attack last year and ended up having Triple Bypass Surgery. I am thankful to work for a firm that participates and sponsors such an important cause!” Shumaker & Sieffert is proud to not only participate in but be a sponsor of Lawyers Have Heart to raise funds for this great cause.
